INITIAL CONSULTATION

Byron Bay medical aesthetics

All new patients to VAE require an initial consultation. This is a 45-minute consultation that allows us to gather all the necessary information required to develop a unique, comprehensive treatment plan to suit your individual skin needs and goals. All treatments at VAE are medical procedures and as such, we will discuss your medical and surgical history, any medications you may be taking, any upcoming procedures including dental work and we also get to know you!

Treatment planning

There are so many wonderful treatments available to assist with your skin, ageing and facial rejuvenation needs. You may be interested in a particular treatment or you may have a concern or issue that you would like to address. Before any treatment, you will have a consultation and examination to determine what treatment/s you would benefit from and a treatment plan will be created.

We usually recommend a step-wise approach for new patients. Simpler and more affordable treatments may be recommended first as a first step in your aesthetic journey.

Your treatments options will be explained in your consultation and you'll be taken through a consent form that explains the intended effect, anticipated downtime and risks of the procedure.

If you are suitable, a simple treatment can absolutely be done at your initial consult. Sometimes treatments may need to be postponed whether it be for medical reasons, a specific treatment is contraindicated or you need more time to think. There is no pressure ot continue with a treatment on the day.

How to prepare for your consultation

Please arrive to your appointment make up, moisturizer and sunscreen free. All the doctors at VAE are mum’s and we know how hard it can be to juggle home, work and personal life! However, given we are a small clinic, there is no space for children to safely wait so we kindly ask that you leave your little ones at home.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE INITIAL CONSULTATION?

Your doctor will ask about your skin goals, lifestyle and medical history in order to recommend a tailored treatment plan based on your unique skin.

Your treatments options will be explained in your consultation and you'll be taken through a consent form that explains the intended effect, anticipated downtime and risks of the procedure.

Some treatments will be able to be performed on the same day and others will need to be booked at a future appointment. If you are a new client and you are unsure which treatment you require, simply book an initial consultation and we can take it from there.
