Treatment with PRP is suitable for almost anyone of all ages and gender. Prior to all PRP treatments a consultation is required to ensure you are a good candidate as this medical procedure requires very precise preparation.

Your blood sample will be collected, much like having a blood test, in the clinic on the day of your treatment. This sample is then spun down in a centrifuge to produce the liquid gold that is the PRP component of your blood. This PRP is then injected in very small but precise aliquots back into your skin. We use a numbing cream for 30 minutes prior to PRP injections to reduce discomfort.

PRP is autologous, meaning it is from your own blood, so there is very little risk of reaction. Most people will experience some swelling and bruising however you can return to your daily activities immediately after the procedure.

This will be discussed at your initial appointment and a tailored treatment plan will be created. We would usually recommend between 2-4 treatments 4 weeks apart with maintenance treatments every 6-12 months as needed.
